My Lender required me to take out Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI), so we already have Mortgage Insurance?
This is a Very common mistake! A significant portion of homeowners who may be required to purchase PMI do not understand what type of protection it offers- and more importantly, Whom it protects. Private Mortgage Insurance is typically a stipulated requirement by a lending institution because the borrower has less then 20% ownership interest in the property. A 2007 law made PMI tax deductible-- if I take out Mortgage Protection, is this also tax deductible?

My Lender didn't require me to take out PMI, am I still a candidate for Mortgage Protection?

May a policy holder apply for benefits more than once during the term of the insurance?
Yes, provided it is a separate disability originating from a different cause.
